Winning Lane

Mr Steve Lane, our grounds keeper, and mountain bike coach, has been pivotal in seeing a rich history in state mountain biking championships come Cornerstone’s way. He is a very accomplished rider himself, with plenty of medals hanging in his trophy cupboard.

Just over a week ago, there was a state wide race round at Pemberton, and Mr Lane finished in second place amongst the masters field. He wasn’t the only Cornerstone representative amongst the 500 competitors. Mrs Karen Kirkham, from our Dunsborough campus, finished with an impressive fifth place in her women’s category.

Some former students who were part of our State Championship winning run were also there, with Bryce Commins (Class of 2020) and a former head boy, Jayden Fraser (Class of 2019) both riding in the top ranked elite field.  Jayden took home second place overall.

Well done, to all!

PS - You can bring your medal for show and tell Mr Lane!
