Softball Report

NPS Lightning Loaders softball team played a great game of softball against Katunga South PS, on Friday May 25. Highlights of a high quality game included excellent use of game strategies, impressive running between bases and some great catches in the outfield. It was a close game, coming down the last innings, but Numurkah Primary school won by just two runs. The win was a great team effort, but worth particular mention, were the efforts of Oakley Austin and Jake Salter as catcher.

The following players also made valuable contributions during the game: Xavier Dixon,  Kaiden Hodgson, Christopher Bodsworth, Lloyd Jetten, Tyson Hill, Jaxson Harvey, Sarah Abdulamir, Joshua Moody and Declan Lowden.

Football Report

On May 25, the Numurkah PS Football Team played against Katunga PS at the Numurkah Recreation Reserve. There were many spectacular passages of play. We helped Katunga out by lending them a couple of players. Therefore we were impressed when Jorjiah kicked an amazing goal – but just a bit disappointed that it was for the opposition! The game was played in good spirit. Our footballers worked hard throughout the game and there were some excellent passages of play. The final scores indicated that Katunga had won the game.

Best on Ground: Jorjiah Moody, Colby Miller, Cody Simpson, Zac Newby and Conner Waites.

Year 5 NETBALL WINTER SPORTS REPORT

It was a really hot Autumn day when the Year 5 netball team, 5/5 Stars, played against the Katunga Year 5 netball team. We all did amazingly; we worked really well as a team to get the ball travelling down the court.  Breanna Inglis-Goodliffe and Keisha Broad shot some excellent goals, and Mitchell Harvey did a great job as Centre in the final quarter.

Katunga put up a fantastic fight and the score was 14 all going into the final quarter. The final score was 18-16 our way. Great work everyone!

Year 6 Netball Report

On Friday the 25th the Year 6 Netball team played Katunga PS students. The score was 17-23 their way. Even though we lost by 6 goals everyone did a fantastic job of supporting each other and moving the ball down the court. Best on court were Angel Pollard and Maddi McGraw. We would also like to thank Karli Gerdtz-Suffern for stepping up and helping on the Year 6 team.
