We hope you're as excited as we are, about our up and coming Festival of Hidden Treasures! Put Saturday 15 October in your diary now and plan to spend the afternoon with us.
Class Activities
Between 2:00 - 5:30pm, each class in the school will be in charge of one activity or food stall, here is the list:
Foundation D - Adopt a Pet
Foundation S - Lucky Jars, Toys
Grade 1E - Fairy Floss
Grade 1G - Popcorn
Grade 2MT - Chocolate Toss
Grade 2R - White Elephant
Grade 3/4B - Produce, cakes, fresh food
Grade 3/4Y - Books, Games, Puzzles
Grade 5/6Y - Photo Booth
Grade 5/6O - Ice-cream
Grade 5/6H - Ring-a-bottle
In our special Festival Newsletter, next week, there will be a link for you to sign yourself up for a stint on your child's stall during the day. We would love to have everyone signed up for at least one session during the day.
THINGS TO COLLECT AND BRING TO SCHOOL, NOW
We are continuing to collect the following items at school now:
- Books - Pre-school, children, teenage and adult
- Jigsaw puzzles - all sizes
- Board games - good condition with all parts present
- Toys - baby, toddler and children's toys
- Clean, empty sealable jars (with lid) for Lucky Jar stall
- Small, new items to fit inside the Lucky Jars, for example hair ties, erasers, small toys
- Chocolate bars for the Chocolate Toss
THINGS TO STORE AT YOUR HOUSE, UNTIL CLOSER TO THE DAY
We will be calling for items closer to the date, but you could start with these:
- Re-saleable items for the traditional "White Elephant" Stall - household, kitchen, garden items
- Plants
- Cake stall baked goods
- Jams, chutney, curds
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
If you own a business and are looking at ways to promote your company and support our school at the same time, then consider these sponsorship opportunities, or talk to us about your ideas:
- Major Sponsor - $5000 - Sponsor the dodgem cars ride, as well as the headline profile on our Festival flyer, promotion traffic on the website for 12 months
- $3000 - Sponsor the giant jumping castle on the day, with promotion on our website for 12 months
- $1000 - Sponsor a new bicycle or scooter for the Hidden Treasure raffle
DONATIONS FOR RAFFLES
Every hour during the Festival we will be running raffles with prizes to be won. Do you have time to go to company's and seek donations for the raffle prizes? Then contact us.
Donations for the raffle so far:
Bicycle from Maroondah Council Bike It program and a major prize from Eastland, a balloon ride in the Yarra Valley valued at $960.
ONSTAGE PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
We have our stage in operation all afternoon and are looking for local organisations or groups that would like to showcase their group. Dance groups, calisthenics, karate, bands etc... are invited to book a time on stage. If you and your family participate in a local group that would love the opportunity to showcase and promote themselves, let us know.
ENTERTAINERS
We are looking for entertainers like balloon sculptors, face painters and magicians. I wonder if you are, or know someone who is, an entertainer and would be interested in coming along on the day to provide entertainment for the festival goers?
COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
Are you a member of a local group or organisation that may like to promote your wares?Your community group may like to come along and promote the group, set up an activity for festival goers, hand out flyers, sign up interested people generally come along and join in the day.
MARKET STALLS
A range of market stalls are planned for the day. Are you into party planning, crafting, producing, creating, then you may wish to book a stall for the day. Express interest in holding your own stall through the link below.
