Junk Play

Junior artists have been flexing their design engineer skills over the past few weeks, playing with an assortment of salvaged junk and thinking about creating Junkbots.

The oohs and ahhs that emanated when I tipped the tub out on the table for the students to sort through. There were circuit boards, plastic cups, nuts and bolts, old remote controls and cameras, buttons, buzzers to name just a few of the fascinating items.

Students played, prised apart and positioned the junk an a "flat lay" robot design ready to photograph and then record their build in a sketch.
