Japanese Summer Festival

Japanese Summer Festival and the City Tour 2019

On Sunday 24th February, the Year 11 and 12 students studying Japanese participated in a Japanese City Tour.

The students enjoyed an early lunch at Ramen Ya, a Japanese restaurant in Lonsdale Street.  After lunch they walked to Federation Square to participate in the Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival 2019.  The students were entertained with Iaido (a sword performance), drumming, Japanese dance and music performances.

The next stop for the students was the National Gallery of Victoria where they observed the Pauline Gandel Gallery of Japanese Art.

At the conclusion of the Art Gallery visit, some  students enjoyed tasting Japanese sweets and drinks at an Asian Grocery shop nearby.

Students who participated in this excursion were Franceis Caparas, Hunter He, Caelan Porter, Laura Serrano, Emily Showler, Nick Zhong, Lawrence Duncan, Joshua Nadong, Andy Nguyen, Lilian Taylor, Brendan Wong.

I’d also like to thank Ms Felicity Creed for her support and company.
