Article 12: Stipends

  • Are you aware that stipends are covered in the OGEA contract?  This guarantees that the work we do gets compensated.  (Most are in article 12)
  • If you know of a stipend that is not in the contract, or one that should be increased, send an email to our bargaining team.  ogeabargaining@gmail.com
  • Stipends that you should be aware of:
    • Overnight field trips, including science camp: $150 per night, up to 4 nights (article 12.7)
    • After school sports coaching, $1500 (article 12.5.1)
    • Athletic director, $3000 (article 12.5.2)
    • District induction mentors (excluding TOSAs who do this as part of their regular job duties) $1500 for supporting 1 or $1900 for supporting 2 (article 12.5.4.3)
    • Intermediate band teacher stipends (see article 12.5.5)
    • Tech mentor, $500 (article 12.5.13)
    • SDC, RSP & SAI teacher stipend, $1500 (article 12.5.14) and 3 release days (article 15.9)
    • BCLAD stipend $1500 (article 12.8)
    • SLP stipend, $1500 (article 12.8.2.3)
    • District trainings outside of the school day, $150 full day or $75 half day (article 12.5.11)
    • Masters or PHD stipend, 5.65% of step 1, class 1 (article 12.1.1.5)
    • National Board Certification or ASHA stipend, $2000 (articles 12.5.12 and 12.8.2.4)
    • Substitute teaching by a TOSA, $100 full day or $50 half day (article 14.17)
    • Substitute teaching by an RSP, $100 full day or $50 half day with a cap of 3 days (article 14.18)
    • Combo class stipend, $1400 and 3 release days (article 15.5)
  • All work should be paid work.  If you are working outside of your contracted hours, make sure you are receiving the correct stipend or the hourly rate of pay in article 12.
