The Benefits of OGEA Membership

Article 14.11 – Adjunct Duties

  • Are you aware that OGEA members have a say in the adjunct duties required at each school site?
  • Your school site should have an adjunct duty advisory committee that meets with the principal in May.  Article 14.11.3
  • The adjunct duty list for next year should be developed by May 31 by this committee, which includes two OGEA members (usually site reps) and the principal.
  • As an OGEA member, you can give your feedback about adjunct duties to your committee members.
  • If you aren’t sure that this is happening at your site, check in with your OGEA reps soon.

Article 12 – Compensation

  • Are you aware that OGEA members received a 5.5% raise this year?
  • The raise was effective as of your April paycheck.
  • The raise was retroactive to the beginning of this school year.
  • Your retroactive pay should come in the middle of May.

Article 13 – Benefits

  • Are you aware that OGEA members got an increase in the school district’s contributions towards medical benefits?
  • As of January, OGSD must contribute $100 more towards the benefits plans of OGEA members.
  • This applies for all of 2022 and it was retroactive in your April paycheck.

Remember, unions are democratic organizations.  Make sure you participate in elections, 10 minute meetings, bargaining surveys, and organizing actions.  You are the union.  We are all in this together.
