Riverlinks Cushion Concert

Congratulations to the Marimba Ensemble for presenting a very popular

Concert for Riverlinks last week. Our audience of preschoolers were dancing, playing and singing with the Music we played. Cooper L and Cooper S were delighted to meet a young Cooper in the audience!

Thanks to the two Coopers, Matilda, Brianna, Phoebe, Ella, Ellee, Jofet,

Juliana, Mechac, Harry, Denver, Jake and Joshua for entertaining and

representing our school.

School Tours

Thanks also to our Marimba Ensemble for creating a tuneful ambience and welcoming presence to the parents and Grade 6 students visiting McGuire last Monday to get to know the educational opportunities on offer in the new Greater Shepparton College (interim name). It was a long day playing from 10.30 to 5 pm!

Next outing for the Marimbas will be as part of Greater Shepparton Refugee Week activities. Date is TBA. Marimba rehearsals are on Mondays at lunchtime.

Jazz Ensemble

A small ensemble of our Jazz players were available to play music for

Wednesday’s Information Night. We were able to “swing” it with our small ensemble, even without a drummer for the first time slot. Congratulations to Jamie Willaton on Trumpet, Phoebe Johnston on Clarinet and Cooper Lundberg on Alto Sax who played in their first gig with the Jazz Ensemble.

Thanks to Jonathan, Paige, Mr Arnold, Ms Ryan and Joshua!who supported the novices !

We are rehearsing for the Debutante Ball on Friday, June 14  all ensemble members are expected to attend both rehearsals and the performance, which is always a great night for McGuire College.

We have also entered the Victorian School Music Festival – Jazz section –

which is in August in Melbourne.

The Sapphires

We have 25 tickets available for The Sapphires Musical Production next

Wednesday.  Please get a bus travel form from Ms Ryan if you would

like to go to this professional production of a very heart-warming story.  Riverlinks have specially programmed the timing to allow school students to attend.

Concert Date

Our proposed Semester 1 Concert date is Wednesday, June 5 at 6 pm to 7 pm in E Wing. Put the date in your diary and tell family and friends!!
