Principal's Report

Well, I can hardly believe that we are already at the end of Term One! How the time has flown by.

The feedback that staff have received through last night's Parent/Teacher Interviews was that all students have transitioned into their new classes wonderfully. These interviews are also fantastic opportunities to strengthen the bond between home and school. As we all know 'It takes a village to raise a child,' and we are all extremely proud to be a part of this amazing Marlborough Community.

Special thanks to the families that assisted with the weekend's sausage sizzle - I know that there is nothing better than a yummy snag (with onions of course) on a sunny weekend. Our fantastic PA will also be leading this afternoon's Colour Fun Run - although as I look out at the sea of crisp, white shirts, I am certain that there will be some very excited and colourful students on the walk home this afternoon.

Next week is planning week - a great opportunity for our teaching teams to get together and organise amazing learning sequences for students. We also have some fantastic things happening such as 'Hoodies Up Day' on Monday, where there will be a special assembly and students are encouraged to wear their hoodies to school; Mike's Big Haircut - where one of our sensational year 6 students will be cutting his hair to raise awareness for the Australian Alopecia Foundation - on Thursday at lunchtime; and finally our end of term 'Free Dress Day' on Friday - with a gold coin donation to support the State School's Relief Fund - which provides uniform and other school items to families who are having financial hardship.

Mr Butler will be taking leave for the remainder of Term One, there will be someone from DET at the school for next week to assist me with the running of the school, allowing me to be back with my class as much as possible. Of course, if you have any concerns or issues, please do not hesitate to contact the school or myself.

Remember that we have a 2:30pm finish next Friday - as it is the last day of term.

We look forward to welcoming back all of our amazing students, staff and community members in the new term.

Have a relaxing and well deserved break.
