Book Week 2020

This week, our library came alive with Curious Creatures and Wild Minds. Book Week 2020 may have been a little late this year, but we still had the opportunity to celebrate with some excellent new books that were awarded prizes from the Children’s Book Council Association (CBCA). We also participated in a zoom session with children’s author Tim Harris. Tim shared some funny stories from his book series, Exploding Endings, Toffle Towers and Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables. He also provided tremendous writing tips for our budding student authors. Question time was very popular as children were eager to know more about his books and life as an author. If your child would like to purchase a signed copy of any of Tim Harris’ books, please go to this link.

Second-hand Book Sale

On Thursday, we held a second-hand book sale where students could donate a gold coin and select some pre-loved books from our library. This was so popular that we quickly ran short of books and had to limit the number of books each child could purchase. This did not hinder the generosity of many students to donate their gold coins to raise money for our school’s Compassion children. In total we raised $175 that will go towards sponsorship.
