Mobile Phone Use

In line with the Department of Education’s ban on mobile phone use at school, our policy clearly states that "no devices or their attachments may be used or sighted at any time during the school day from the ringing of the first bell to the last bell.”

In the interest of developing independent, resilient, courageous young people, all parents and carers are reminded that at no point should their child be contacting them from their mobile phones during the school day.

We are finding an increased number of students are calling parents and carers before the College is aware of their circumstances, and this clearly goes against our policy and is not best practice.

If your child becomes ill during the day, it is important that they attend Reception immediately. Our staff are well versed in physical and mental health First Aid and provide exceptional care.

If the illness is deemed serious, parents and carers can rest assured that they will be notified immediately and a plan for providing further care or collecting the student can be arranged.

Exceptions to contacting parents or carers via mobile phones throughout the day may occur when a staff member has given express permission for a student to do so.

The College appreciates your support with this important matter.
