Primary 8 had a great game on Saturday. Although they are yet to win a game, the girls tried their hardest to the very end. The opposition coach told us that our team was the nicest group of girls they have played against. We couldn’t be prouder and know we are close to getting a win on the board.

Year 5/6 Boys SAPSASA Netball
On Wednesday the 14th of June, the selected team of year 5/6 boys attended a knockout netball competition held at Pulteney Grammar School. Throughout the day, the boys played three games against Pulteney Grammar School, Highgate Primary and St Michael’s Lutheran.
The day presented an excellent learning opportunity for the boys as they developed an understanding and awareness for the game and the rules. The results for the day were as followed:
Game 1:
Pulteney Grammar (13) defeated Magill School (12)
Game 2:
Highgate (29) defeated Magill School (3)
Game 3:
St Michael’s Luthern (22) defeated Magill School (8)
Unfortunately, with three losses, Magill was knocked out of the competition, with Highgate Primary moving to round 2 as the winners of the day.
Outstanding effort and enthusiasm were shown throughout the day. There was some great effort in defense shown by Austin W (F1), Cooper M (F4) and Levi O (F2). Ollie S (F4) and Theodore T (F1) displayed quick speed and runs through mid court, while Kristian P (F3), Aydan D (F2), and Slater H (F13) demonstrated persistent shooting efforts. It has been an absolute pleasure coaching the boys and witnessing their growing interest in the game and development of skills over the past few weeks.

SAPSASA Girl's Netball
On Monday 19th June our SAPSASA netball girls participated in a mini knockout carnival against 3 other local schools. The girls were extremely competitive throughout the day, and the competition proved to be very balanced.
In their first game against East Adelaide, the scores remained close in each quarter, with the biggest margin being a halftime deficit of 7 goals to 11. The girls made a stunning comeback and finished with a draw as the final whistle blew. This led to an additional 5 minutes of play, but unfortunately, they lost by a single goal.
Their second game was against East Marden, and it was an incredibly tight contest with the scores favouring the opposition in each quarter. However, the Magill players fought back and emerged victorious with a score of 16 to 15.
The third game proved to be the toughest as they faced their strongest competitor, Burnside. By halftime, Burnside had a lead of 13 goals while Magill had 5. In the second half of the game, Magill gave their all and managed to secure a draw—an outstanding and valiant effort. However, during the additional time, Burnside clinched the victory with a score of 26 goals to 23.
Well done to the following girls for their efforts on the day:
Amelia Y (F2), Aria L (F13), Alana W (F1), Christabelle T (F12), Isabella R (F2), Isla K (F15), Josie C (F1), Katy B (F3), Lucia R (F4), Vindula W (F1)
