It's All Happening!!

The Move

After what seems like an eternity, the new building is almost complete, and we are scheduled to move all of our Junior Primary classes next weekend in preparation for the last week of school. It was our preference to move in the holidays, but this is not possible. This is a huge logistical exercise that has been made easier because our teachers have volunteered to give up much of their weekend to move and set up their classrooms in readiness for week 10.

There will be issues with any move of this size and not everything will be perfect for the start of week 10. We ask our community to be patient and understanding while we navigate this tricky period. We will endeavour to communicate any issues or changes via class emails or SeeSaw messages.

I want to thank our Junior Primary teachers, specialist teachers, and admin staff for their willingness to go above and beyond the call to get this done. They have spent weeks packing and sorting and will give up much-needed rest and family time to make this as smooth as possible for the children. All of this has been going on in the background while they have continued providing high-quality learning programs for their students.  Many, many thanks!

Reports

Our reporting system has changed this year as we are using new software that our partnership primary schools have been using for some time. Much of the information will be the same, with the addition of specialist comments now included in the midyear report. This term, student reports will be emailed out to families in PDF form in the last week of school. Some of you may miss the hard copy, but the administrative workload and cost of producing printed student reports are unsustainable. Next term, we will provide parents with the opportunity to request a hard copy.

A very busy last couple of weeks ahead for everyone. Let's hope the weather is kind, especially while we move.  We might even have our new school sign up and running too!
