State Cross Country

 

 

 

Congratulations to Ruby Hay who competed in the State Cross Country last Thursday at the Yarra Glen Race Course. Ruby ran very well and came 31st overall. A fantastic achievement. Over 1740 competitors representing over 200 schools took part in this event.

 

 

 

 

 

Winter Sport – Round 1

Well done to all our Year 5 and 6 children who participated in Round 1 of the Winter Sport competition against Colac West/St Brendan’s last Friday. The children enjoyed a variety of sports including soccer, netball, hot shots tennis, mixed games, down ball, spike ball and table tennis.  The second round of Winter Sport will be held on Friday 28th July at Elliminyt Primary School. 

Year 3/4 Football Gala Day (postponed)

The Year 3/4 Football Gala Day will no longer take place on Friday 21st July due to the conditions of our local football grounds. A new date is yet to be confirmed.

Name: Poppi Reid (Yr 6KT)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sports are netball and soccer. I find them the easiest to play.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was getting a goal in netball for the first time.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My balance is good in sport and so is my physical strength.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I like playing sport because it helps me to keep calm and I get to jump high.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? My Dad. Why are they your favourite? He is my favourite sports person because he has lots of experience in sport.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite team in sport is my own netball team.

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? Football is my favourite sport because I am good at it.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment is when I threw a half court buzzer beater.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strength in sport is my speed. I am fast.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Ciril Rioli. Why are they your favourite? Because he was a great player for the Hawks

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Hawks

 

Name: Jock Melville (Yr 4 DC)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? Cricket is my favourite sport because I like that you get to do lots of things like bat, bowl and wicket keep.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was hitting the winning runs in cricket.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strength in sport is my speed.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun and because it makes you healthy.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Mitchell Starc. Why are they your favourite? He is a great cricketer and he is a fast bowler.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? The Australian Cricket Team
