Snapchat have changed their privacy policy. This rolled out in the US in February but has just hit our shores. Knowing that the majority of young people won't read up on these changes, here is an update you can be are across the changes.
The changes to Snapchat that you need to be aware of include:
- The way that data is displayed for certain products - recent locations may be shown to friends on the Map, literally showing where you sleep at night
- Snapchat will be able to share how close a user is with their friends based on their interactions with them
- Snapchat will communicate with users via SMS (as a marketing tool)
- Users will be visible on Snap Map they always were, but now the location is precise down to around a metre of where they are actually standing
