Principal's Report

Come on in...

School community on-site opportunities

To help celebrate adults being permitted back on-site (for those double vaccinated), I'd like to extend the following opportunities:

  • forthcoming walk-a-thon participation - please join in and walk with your child to show your support;
  • new school tours (including inside!) - I welcome the opportunity to show you through our expanded school and share our learning spaces (Tuesday 23 November at either 9:00am or 4:30pm ~ please register on 5334 6328 or miners.rest.ps@education.vic.gov.au); and
  • I am confident we will have a 'live' Presentation Evening on Wednesday 15 December.

My thoughts for consideration

We are still in a pandemic

Please remain kind and patient

Please demonstrate respect and resilience

Understand, we won't just 'snap' out of this - it will take time

Demonstrate empathy

Set the standard for our children to follow

Nurture our children, with persistence

There are two-sides / perspectives to every conversation

Take small steps with our children and don't rush (a recovery)

Restrictions remain for everyone's safety

Remember, we all have a differing reality (and story)

Keep looking after yourself and loved ones

We are all doing our best

Capital Works Project update

As we near the end of the landscaping process, works will continue for some time to come.

We are fortunate to have some unallocated funds to further develop our grounds and continue to grow the number of purposeful spaces for our students to enjoy.

We will have future working bees as well, to complete some smaller projects and make our grounds even more amazing.

School Uniform

Our School Council have established a working party to review our school uniform policy, options and implementation.

A thorough review is planned, and outcomes of the findings / recommendations will be shared early in the 2022 school year.

Our uniform is an essential element of our school pride and community image.  We hope to continue to set high expectations and respect in this regard.

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
