Junior School

Blue Tree

Last week we were able to read Year 12 student, Max Beros’ story about how he battled with his own mental health concerns, and how with support, he worked his way through some tough times. Inspired by the motto, “It’s OK to not be OK” the Junior School boys created a feature to contribute to this important and very relevant message.

JPSSA Interschool Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to the boys who have been selected to represent the College in the swimming team. The Interschool Carnival takes place on Thursday, 10 March at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont. The swimmers will leave school at 12pm for a 1pm start. The carnival is scheduled to conclude at 2.55pm so the team will not be arriving back at Trinity until approximately 3.20pm. Unfortunately, parents are not permitted to attend. Live streaming of the JPSSA carnival will be accessible on the afternoon by following the link.

Recycled Art Competition "Steampunk Robots"

A reminder for Junior School boys that there is only 2 weeks left before submissions are due! Don’t forget to visit the Art Room if you would like some free materials to use. Prizes will be allocated to the most amazing, steampunk, robot entries!

Prefects Corner

It has just been an ordinary week at the Trinity College Junior School. Although we have had two live streamed Masses which have been streamed to each class because of covid restrictions. We have also been learning about the Blue Tree Foundation which helps and encourages people to speak up when battling mental health concerns. So, this week we have been cutting out paper blue trees and attaching skewers to the back of the paper blue trees and then we are got to bring them and stick them around the playground.

Next week is International Women’s Day to recognise how far we’ve come to towards gender equality and how far we still have to go. To celebrate this day, the boys have created post cards to give to the significant women in their life. We had a sport bye this week due to the senior swimming carnival so, we are only going to have training on Thursday. Next week the Junior Interschool swimming team will be competing in the PSA interschool carnival, and we are all cheering them on as it will also be live streamed into classes.
