Brisbane Youth Festival 2021

Hidden beneath the spans of the Story Bridge, Brisbane Jazz Club has been fostering live jazz in Brisbane since 1972. During May, they will be hosting their annual Brisbane Youth Jazz Festival at BEMAC, Queensland Multicultural Centre; which will see a multitude of Big Band ensembles performing across four days - including Marist College Ashgrove’s very own Big Band 1. If you are a lover of music from the big band era, then the 2021 Brisbane Youth Jazz Festival is for you.

 

Marist College Ashgrove Big Band 1 is performing Thursday 6 May 6 at 6:00pm – BEMAC Queensland Multicultural Centre, Level 1 - 102 Main St Kangaroo Point QLD. A booking link will be available via the College App once available.

Marist College Ashgrove Battle of the Bands 2021

After Covid-19 stole the show last year, the annual Marist College Ashgrove Battle of the Bands is returning to its home of almost 20 years, the John Eales Grandstand. After completion of the College Walkathon, experience the College’s finest rock bands compete for a placing in this renowned event, which has launched the careers of multiple Aria award-winning and nominated artists.

 

Students interested in performing, please keep an eye on the Daily Notices for upcoming meetings. Auditions will take place in Week 4, Term 2. Please register your band name and members by email to music@marash.qld.edu.au.

Congratulations once again to the 2021 Year 5 Cohort for their showstopping performance of “DIG-IT! The Musical” last term.
