Parents and Friends Community News

Happy November!

Only 7 weeks till Christmas and exactly 28 school days till the end of term and school year.  That happened quickly!  It’s been a busy year for the PFC and just before we load up on eggnog and slip into our tacky Christmas jumpers we are spending a little time reflecting on 2022, what went well, what didn’t and – importantly – how much money we raised for our wonderful school.  We will include all this in our next newsletter so be sure to tune in.

A few things:

Election Day Democracy Sausage – Saturday 26 November

Don’t vote early and instead come on down to the school to vote and grab yourself a yummy democracy sausage with onions or a top quality bacon and egg roll.  We will be cooking and serving from 8am to 2pm and the wonderful Ulrike and Dirk will open Grounds Café to serve all sorts of beverages and delicious sweet treats.  We already have heaps of volunteers to help us cook and serve but there are spots available – from 11am onwards – so please consider signing up here https://signup.com/go/LuqFqAu and doing your bit to help raise funds for the school’s playground project.

Playground Project Update

A massive thanks to our playground project parent working group – Antony Hardenberg, Dina Kalpousoz, Ben Craig and Heidi Lord – who have already made great strides with the project by identifying and allocating tasks, conducting research and planning for parent and student focus groups.  It’s great to see all the funds we have raised as a community going to such a good cause and something that will benefit the school and our children for years to come.

Reminders

  • Pay your 2023 school fees in Compass and don’t forget to read the covering letter for important information;
  • Don’t forget to order your 2023 stationery pack from Campion or print the list if you intend to buy your own – all details in Compass;
  • Last day of term is Tuesday 20th December and we will run our usual Fun Lunch – but with a Christmas twist – look out for more details to follow in Compass and this newsletter;
  • Class Contact List Survey – this will be posted out to all parents shortly after final orientation on Tuesday 6th December when students find out their classes and teacher for 2023.  A plea to please fill this out ASAP – it only takes one minute – as this will ensure we get the Class Contact Lists up and running early for 2023.

See you next time 😊
