Musical Notes

It is fantastic to hear music emanating from the Music Rooms through our open windows!

In Week 8 the Music Department welcomed the Princes Hill school community to our long-awaited Twilight Concerts. While we were disappointed to cancel our Term 2 and 3 music nights this year, our ensemble students remained engaged and enthusiastic, and emerged from remote-learning with full repertoires and ready to perform!

On Tuesday, we welcomed everyone to the music courtyard. The sun was shining and we spent the evening listening to the music of CJE, Planet Seven, Used Car Horns, Stage Band, Junior Choir, Vocal Group, Jazz Choir and Rhapsody, and Soul Band, as well as some special performances from our senior voice students.

Thursday presented new challenges, as a cold front and thunderstorms heading towards the school forced us into the theatre. Despite the late change, everyone adapted and put on a great show. We heard from Strung Out, String Collective, Arnold Street, Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble, Latin Band, and some fantastic student-led bands.

Thank you to everyone that helped make both nights happen, especially our incredible music students who waited patiently all year for a chance to perform, their parents and friends for coming to watch, instrumental staff for rising to the occasion at the last minute, and everyone that stuck around to set and pack up.
