Camp Australia

What’s been happening the last few weeks:

Week 6 was Reconciliation Week. We spent our week discussing and learning about Aboriginal history and culture, playing traditional First Nations games that originated in this region of Australia. We got in touch with nature during nature walks through the school, identifying native plants we found lying on the ground and collecting them. Once we had a good amount, we brought them inside and created wreaths by gluing them down onto cardboard circle cut-outs.

This week we are getting physical with a sport’s themed week. The children got creative with our cheerleading pom-pom supplies, instead turning them into dolls based on their favourite movie princesses.

The children had an opportunity to suggest their favourite Disney movie/song, which were compiled into a playlist for our dance party on Wednesday night.

What’s coming up next?

This Friday June 9th Camp Australia is open for the curriculum day, and we have lots of fun activities planned! The children are making beaded wind chimes in the morning and catapults in the afternoon. They will also be helping to make our snack in the afternoon in a cooking activity.

Next week our Big Art competition begins. Children are encouraged to enter either the drawing or writing competition, there are a variety of prizes available from Riot Art and Craft.

Just a reminder to parents/guardians that if your children aren’t attending OSHC can you please advise Camp Australia online or phone or text the OSHC mobile on 0438230583.

Rocketeers:

Rocketeers is once again at Ocean Grove Primary School these holidays. Don’t forget to book your children in as there are a variety of exciting excursions and incursions planned. Booking can be done through the Camp Australia app now.

Before & After School Care

Camp Australia offers all of our students the opportunity to attend before or after school care if needed. The program runs from the Senior Learning Building

If your children need to be at school before 8:30 am or stay after 3:15pm, it is required that you enroll them in the Camp Australia program.

If for some reason your child is not going to attend Camp Australia on a day that you have already booked, please notify the program so that they are aware of your change. This makes it so much easier for them and they will not have to look for your child at the end of the day or call you to see where they are.

Thank you for your support with this matter.

You can enroll your child on line at www.campaustralia.com.au
