CEO'S Message

As we start Term 4 of this most challenging of years (as if 2020 wasn’t enough!) we wish everyone the best as they prepare their students for the end of the year, any exams and pathways post school. Like you, we understand how hard it has been keeping everyone engaged and maintaining enthusiasm for online meetings and learning.

Covid-19 fatigue has set in and we can only try and continue doing our best and motivating those young people in our midst to look forward, have hope and ‘hang in there’  To that end we have curated a webinar, specifically designed to combat online learning fatigue - perhaps somewhat ironically by inviting students to attend another online event, called Hang in There.

Thankfully we still provide services to some students requiring pathways support and careers counselling over the phone but we all look forward to coming out of lockdown when we can return to normal service delivery.

Soon we will be moving offices and look forward to having the space to comfortably fit our new team. Recently we welcomed a new team member, Laura Mitchell.  Laura originally hails from Western Australia and has a varied career to date including time spent working on a goat farm as well as in libraries.  Laura is working predominantly with the Job Victoria Advocates team to support them in delivery of the program.  Speaking of which, Aisha, Laura and Prinscilla have been working on a series of webinars to support the delivery of the advocates program and hope to implement other ways to provide services directly to clients once we can return onsite.

I know the staff of the City LLEN including me can’t wait to meet up with you all in real life as soon as we can safely.

Take care
