Caring for Young Carers

Did you know, 1 in 10 young people are young carers?

Some young people may have extra responsibilities and experience barriers to participation in education, employment and the community.

Carers Week is a great time for youth workers & service providers to learn who young carers are & what supports are available to them through Carer Gateway.

Project Roll Up

is an industry placement experience with a difference! Victorian secondary students (aged 15 years and older) can gain valuable industry experience in a COVID-safe environment, develop connections with potential future employers and influence the thinking of decision-makers.

The Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV) are delivering COVID-19 information sessions online with community groups in partnership with Vic Health.

The sessions cover medical information about COVID-19 and vaccines including:

  • How it is spread, how we can protect ourselves, the new variants and how they spread.
  • Vaccines, types of vaccine, efficiency, how they protect us, how to book appointment, and where to get vaccinated.
  • Q&A where participants can ask the presenter any questions and share any concerns they have about the vaccine and getting vaccinated.

If your group’s preferred language is not available they can arrange for an interpreter.

If you have less than 20 attendees, an ECCV outreach team member has the capacity to deliver the session and answer any questions you may have. If you have 20 attendees or more, a health professional presenter will attend.

The aim of the sessions is to provide community members with accurate and up to date information to help them make informed decisions.

If you are interested in running a session for your community group you can call Hayat Doughan on 0478 217 956 or email Hdoughan@eccv.org.au
