-Choir members who have accepted the Operoo form, please arrive at 5:45 pm

• First Communion: Parish Presentation Masses for First Communicants: First Communicants and their families to attend the Masses at 6pm on Saturday, June 17th, Saturday, July 15th and Saturday, July 22 at St Brendan’s Church
• Thursday, June 22- First Eucharist Workshop Evening with the Gen Bryant Ministry Team- For Year Four and other First Communicants and their parents or carers- St Brendan's Church at 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Term Three

• Saturday, July 29- Year Four First Eucharist Sacramental Mass St Brendan’s Church at 6:00 pm

Thank you to our Year One & Two students and the staff who work at this level for their National Reconciliation Week Mass on Thursday, May 25th. It was a very special Mass, full of rich symbolism and story, both in celebrating the Catholic faith and exploring the culture and experience of First Nations People. Thank you to everyone who contributed to setting up and prepping this Mass in any way, especially Jenny Riddell as our Indigenous Leader.

Confirmation  News

Thank you to the Confirmation candidates and their families who attended one or more of the Parish Masses at 6pm on Saturday, May 20th and Saturday, May 27th at St Brendan’s Church. Fr Shymon and the parishioners were thrilled to have you present. Special thanks to Mrs Turner, Mrs Carr, Mrs Coggin, Ms Ristrom and Mrs Reed for being present to support the students and their families at these Masses. 

The Confirmation Workshop evening for Year Six Confirmation Candidates and their parents or guardians was held last Monday, May 22nd at St Brendan’s Church. Those present explored the gifts and fruits of The Holy Spirit, joined in with singing the responsorial psalm for the Mass, meditated on The Pentecost narrative, rehearsed the renewal of Baptismal promises and discussed the finer details for the Mass. Thank you to all who attended, especially Mrs Carr and the Year Five and Six teachers, who prepared and presented the evening. A ‘Last Minute Reminders’ notification will go out to families this week in the lead up to the Confirmation Mass on Saturday night.

First Eucharist Enrolments

Families of students in Year Four have now reviewed an Operoo notification regarding enrolling their children to receive the sacrament of First Eucharist. Please note that enrolment for this sacrament closes on Wednesday, June 7th. 

First Communion: Parish Presentation Masses for First Communicants

Families are always welcome at any Catholic Parish Mass at any time. However Fr Shymon has especially invited the First Communicants and their families to attend the Masses at 6pm on Saturday, June 17th, Saturday, July 15th and Saturday, July 22 at St Brendan’s Church, as they prepare to receive the sacrament of First Communion. Please mark these dates in your family schedule. 

Social Justice Action News

Caritas Project Compassion Lenten Appeal

Well done to all of our classes for raising a combined total $186.50 for the Caritas Australia Annual Project Compassion Lenten Appeal. Please see the class totals below. Congratulations to 3/4M for their generosity in raising the highest amount of $45.25 alone, followed by FR  with $37.15 and 5/6C with $33.00 to contribute to the school total. Well done!

Catholic Baptism

For families with children who have not received the Sacrament of Catholic Baptism and are considering this sacrament for their child/ren, please contact the Western Port Parish Centre on (03) 5979 4374. Should you make Baptism arrangements with the Parish, please inform me so that this special milestone for your child can be acknowledged within the school community. Please also forward a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate to the school so that this can be reflected in the school records.

Families who wish for their children to receive any sacrament or The Rite of Reception through the parish, have been requested by Fr Shymon to make timely arrangements, as adequate preparation is required. This is especially important when families wish to enroll in school sacramental preparation programs, such as First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. 

Christian Initiation for Adults: RCIA

Have you ever considered becoming a Catholic or continuing the Catholic sacramental journey which you commenced as a child or younger adult? 

Adults who wish to begin or continue their faith journey through the reception of the Catholic sacraments are invited to contact the Western Port Parish Centre on (03) 5979 4374.
