Western Region Athletics

Eleven students represented our district at the Western SSA Trial Athletics carnival at Dubbo on Friday, 2 August 2019.

All students performed well with many achieving personal best achievements on the day.

Results are as follows:-

Josh Dean - 100m Dash (7th),  Long Jump (17th)

Dominic Grocott - Long Jump (16th) Javelin (5th)

Marnie Halls - Shot Put (4th) Discus (4th)

Graham Parkes - 100m Dash (10th), 200m Dash (8th), 400m Dash (7th), Long Jump (9th)

Joseph Prosper - High Jump (1st), Shot Put (9th)

Imogen Pye - 200m Dash (15th)

Mackella Pye - 100m Dash (7th), 200m Dash (5th)

Felix Crozier was unfortunately unable to attend.

Congratulations to all participants and to Joseph Prosper who will represent the region at the State carnvial in September.  Good luck Joe!

Katrina Fanning Cup at Coota

This week, seven girls from BCS joined forces with Murrumburrah High School to compete in the Katrina Fanning Cup. It was a brilliant day with the girls showing they could muscle up and complete some excellent full contact Rugby League skills. They did themselves very proud and showed no fear. Highlights of the day were the Under 14's girls beating Temora and the Under 16's beating Sacred Heart Cootamundra.

Marnie Halls was named Most Valued Player for the 16's and Rhianna Apps finished off a brilliant try with her first touch of the day. The day was well organised and a credit to the NRL who organised drills at the start of the day to make sure all girls were prepared for contact. All players got through the day unscathed as some were worried would happen.

Western Region Gymnastics

Mackella Pye represented the Western Region team for the NSW Combined High Schools Gymnastics Competition at the Hunter Sports Centre in Newcastle last week.   Mackella was awarded with a Certificate for 3rd place in Division E Team Competition, Women's Artistic Championships.  Her individual results were to be commended receiving 4th place on Bars, 11th on Beam, 12th on Floor, and 8th on Vault .  Well done Mackella on your amazing achievements.
