Term 1 NAS

Our NAS season kicked off this week against Sacred Heart College. I would like to commend all players for organising themselves well to ensure teams had enough players and making it down to the buses on time. Next week we are scheduled to play Newman College with our Year 8/9s on Tuesday 3 March and our Year 10/11/12 on Wednesday 4 March. Our Year 7 NAS games against Newman may be rescheduled at a later date, however all Year 7 Touch Rugby team players will play Newman at JTC on Thursday 5 March.

ACC Swimming

Starting from next week, canteen vouchers will be given to all students who attend swimming training. Training runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 7:00am-8:00am. Training is open to all students.

NAS Swimming Meet - Newman College

All Years 7 – 10 members of the ACC Swim Squad are expected to participate in this meet. It is a final chance to post times for ACC selection. Students will need to meet at the bus shelter at 11:00am on Friday 6 March ready for an attendance call and transport instructions. Students will return to the College at 3:30pm.

Students are required to bring the following:

  • Lunch and adequate fluids
  • Sunscreen
  • College Bathers and College Sports Uniform, including hat
  • Swimming cap. Can be purchased from the uniform shop. We have a limited loan supply.
  • Parental letter if you what to leave directly from Newman College, otherwise you will be transported back to the College

All swimmers will be expected to compete in the freestyle events and in at least one other stroke. Students will give their time to the John XXIII College supervisors as they will be used to finalise the ACC Team.

This will be the last chance for students to improve their times before the ACC Team is selected.

Cross-Country Training

Cross-Country training at John XXIII College is open to students of all running and fitness ability. Training is with exercise physiologist, Claire Rechichi and takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00am-8:00am. Cross-country running provides an incredibly effective and convenient way to stay in shape, provides health benefits, and running can also boost confidence and relieve stress.
