Open Boys Cricket
The Open Boys Cricket team competed against Parkes High School in the Davidson Shield Knockout on Monday.
Cowra lost the toss and were sent in on a soft wicket. Sam Long and Mac Webster opened the batting and set about building a solid opening stand. Their partnership of 44 in tricky conditions created a solid platform for the rest of the team.
Sam was the standout batsman (86 runs), but well supported by Mac (21), Isaac McFarland (18), Darcy Callaghan (17) and Josh Pokoney (19 not out). Cowra finished their innings 6/191.
Cowra High started their bowling session extremely well getting a wicket in the third over.
Parkes then set about constructing their innings before they lost their second wicket in the last over before drinks. This was a result of good bowling from Emerson Baratto. This then created a collapse after drinks and put Cowra High in the box seat. Cowra defeated Parkes who made 7/145. Cowra High standout bowlers were Ky Johnson with two wickets, Emerson Baratto with three wickets and Isaac McFarland with two wickets. The next round of the Davidson Shield is against Blayney High School in Blayney.
Well done boys!
