Principal's Report

The 2018 HSC written exams have started well.  Students have reported that as expected they have been challenging, but they have been well prepared.  It has also been very pleasing that many of our students have already gained early entry to university.  We look forward to the students’ continued success.

In Week One we held a Year 11 Drama night as a fund raiser for students performing in this year’s NSW Schools’ Spectacular.  I’m sure those who attended will agree that the performance was outstanding and highly entertaining.  I congratulate all who were involved.

Congratulations also to our Agriculture students who performed very well in this year’s Cowra Show.  It was very pleasing to hear of the success of their carrots, lemons and chickens.  I’m sure we will continue to build on this experience.

Success for Clayton Hayes at the National Youth Championships

Recently Cowra footballer Clayton Hayes attended the National Youth Championships held at Coffs Harbour.

Clayton represented Country NSW in the Under 14’s and thoroughly enjoyed the week of matches, playing against the top 300 players from across Australia in his age group.

There were also squads from three A-League clubs involved for the first time this year, in the 13th year the championships have been held at Coffs Harbour.

Clayton was named captain of the Country NSW squad with the team playing 8 matches over the week.  The first two matches were played in torrential rain which made for tricky conditions.

Clayton commented “I enjoyed the experience playing against the top players from around Australia and thought our squad were better prepared mentally this year for the tough competition.”

‘I would also like to thank my coaches, NSW Football and my club this year for helping me to get there.’
