Competition

A few weeks ago Year 7, 8 and 9 students were given login details to participate in the WORDMANIA competition.

Round 2 is underway and we've hit the leaderboard! Year 7's are currently sitting at number 1 for our Victorian North region. Year 8 are at number 2, just behind Rutherglen High School. 

 Students have three minutes to create as many words as they can from a board of 15 randomly generated letter tiles. Year level leader boards will be updated daily, for both skill and participation.

Word building is a great challenge for developing literacy skills and is fun for all ages. It involves phonemes, morphemes including affixes and plurals, spelling, word recognition, vocabulary and word knowledge.

Students playing Wordmania will also have access to the whole of Literacy Planet during the competition, with thousands of interactive and engaging exercises for all literacy skills.
