eBooks & New Books

During August the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) committee announce the best young adult books in 2018.  Years 7–9 English students will be provided with a booklet with the list of finalists.  TAs can take advantage of this offer too.

You can choose your favourite novel on the voting slip and leave it in the library.   In August, Shepparton High School and the CBCA will announce their winners!  We will give you a sample of the six books vying for the prize in the next three newsletters.

The Finder by Kate Hendrick  This is a thought-provoking, gritty story about Lindsay who has an uncanny knack of finding people – even though she’s not actually looking for them.  Lindsay tracked down a runaway and word got out that she knows how to find people.

Elias is looking for his birth mother and thinks Lindsay can help.  Lindsay is really only looking for her identical twin, Frankie, who disappeared when they were seven. Despite their different approaches, Lindsay might just have found someone she can look with.

Never Fade & In the Afterlight  by Alexandra Bracken   These are books 2 and 3 in a 4 book series. The first book “The Darkest Minds” sets the scene.
