Junior School

Year 4 Diamonds

Last term Year 4 Diamonds investigated countries around the world. We looked at the different cultures, geography and our favourite, the popular foods. As part of our investigation we tasted foods from around the world. We got to try Spaghetti Bolognese from Italy, Kangaroo from Australia, Thai Green Curry from Thailand, Croissants from France and a variety of Chinese dishes. Year 4 went on an excursion to Fung Wah Asian Restaurant in the main street of Uralla, where we had an amazing Chinese lunch. We would like to thank all the staff at Fung Wah for our great lunch. As part of our learning we also created our own Decoupage place mats. We learnt extensive information about countries around the world and how they are similar to Australia.

Junior School Cooking.

During the past fortnight Junior School classes have been cooking. Rubies have made fruit rockets and milkshakes, Diamond's made and decorated muffins that were judged by students from the Hospitality class, Emerald's made Anzac biscuits with our visiting American student teacher and the final group to cook this week was Pearls. Their classroom theme is limiting waste. As a result, Year 3 came up with four different uses for leftover savoury mince and made these recipes.
