Absence Procedures.

Parents are required to explain the absences of their children from school promptly and within seven days. An explanation for absence must be provided to the school within seven days of the first day of any period of absence. If your child is away there are a few ways that you can inform the school.

1. A note before the absence or the day of their return explaining why the student was away. Please include a medical certificate when possible.

2. Schoolstream. The school has a free Schoolstream App that includes Parent eForms so that absences can be sent in quickly via your tablet or smart phone.

3. Exemptions. If you are planning on being away for a period of time you can fill out an exemption form for the Principal to approve.

4. A parent/carer may inform the office of a students absence in person or over the phone.

Social Media.

Uralla Central School has a Facebook page. Weekly events are loaded onto the page Friday's for the week to follow however you will also find flyers, photos, the occasional community event and also updates as they come to hand.

Please note that if you have any questions or correspondence, your best option is to please call the office and not converse via Facebook.

Bell Times.

Late Arrival Procedures.

If a student is late to school they need to first present at the office before attending class. Students will then be marked as present with the time they were away listed as an absence. Students should have a note from their parent/carer as to why they are late. Students are then given a late slip to take to their class.

School Banking.

The Regional Australia Bank will again be implementing its school banking program for Junior School students in 2019.  Deposit collection dates will be every second Thursday.  For more information, please contact the school office.

Schoolstream.

Children' Crossings and Combined Children's and Pedestrian Crossing Rules.

Children's crossings

These are part-time crossings which operate just before and after school hours, as well as other times such as school excursions and lunch times. They are highlighted by red flags with the words CHILDREN CROSSING on them.

When the flags are displayed you must slow down and stop before the stop line if a pedestrian is on or entering the crossing. You must not proceed until all pedestrians have left the crossing.

You must not stop on or within 20 metres before or 10 metres after, a children’s crossing.

Combined children's and pedestrian crossing

Some pedestrian crossings are used as children’s crossings at some times during the day. The display of CHILDREN CROSSING flags means that the children's crossing is operating.

When the flags are not displayed the crossing operates as a normal pedestrian crossing.
