Advent

The season of Advent began on Sunday 27 November. The word Advent comes from the Latin word which means ‘coming.’ The Lord is coming.

We have been continuing our preparations this season with weekly prayer services, as well as lessons within our Religious Education curriculum.

Week 2 of Advent had a focus on Peace.

We pray for all leaders and keepers of peace in our world, that they may remain faithful to the Dream of Jesus by promoting healing and harmony throughout the world.

We pray for our own school community, that we may be signs of God’s peace and compassion for one another.

We pray for our families and friends, that we may live together in peace, with forgiving hearts and open minds.

We pray for ourselves, that we may recognise the times we need to stop and look after our wholeness and wellbeing in order to be peaceful people.

Week 3 has a focus on Joy.

We pray for all world leaders, that they may keep joy alive in our world by standing up for what is right.

We pray for our own school community, that we may be signs of God’s love and joy.

We pray for those who have lost their joy. May we bring some happiness to their lives by sharing our love with them.
