Welcome to Spring and Welcome to The Season of Creation

The first of September marks the beginning of spring and for Catholics worldwide,  it marks the beginning of "The Season of Creation". This time, is a worldwide Christian celebration of prayer and action for our common home. This year, the theme for the season is ‘Listen to the Voice of Creation’. This special season ends on 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. 

At St Brigid's, our classes have been studying Integral Ecology as part of our Religious Education lessons. As part of this study, the Year 4/5 class led a beautiful Mass on 'Care for our Common Home' and below are some wonderful examples from our Reception/1 students  explaining their understanding of the provocation "Creation is a gift from God."

Made In The Image of God

Over the next few weeks each year level will be exploring the age-appropriate Made In The Image of God Human Sexuality Curriculum. This programme recognises parents as the first educators of their children and each family has received a letter outlining the specific areas each year level covers. This programme emphasises the importance of human dignity as it originates from God and is of God because we are made in God’s own image and likeness (Gn 1:26-27). Catholic School Music Festival

It was a privilege to go along with Ms Antonietta and 8 members of our choir to rehearse for the Catholic Schools Music Festival. The students sang beautifully and represented the school admirably. We are all looking forward to the performance on Thursday 29th September.

Social Justice

This Term, St Brigid's School is supporting Catholic Missions Australia. Tony Johnston from Catholic Mission will be visiting our school to tell us all about the important work completed by Catholic Missions Australia and help launch 'Socktober' which will be explored further during our Heart Learning moments. Watch this space as we endeavor to raise both awareness and funds for this great charity in the upcoming month and beyond.
