Pentecost

“When the Holy Spirit comes upon you... 

you will be my witnesses” 

(Acts 1:8).

Today we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. 

Pentecost takes place fifty days after Easter and celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples. In the Christian tradition, the Feast of Pentecost commemorates the birth of the Church. At Pentecost, the Apostles were empowered to fulfil the mission given to them by Jesus; to go out and preach the Good News. 

On this day, we pray that we are strengthened and nourished by the Holy Spirit, so as to be true witnesses of the Risen Lord.

Brigidine College Winter Appeal

At the start of Term 2, we launched our annual Brigidine College Winter appeal. This year, our appeal supports the most vulnerable in our society through St Vincent de Paul and Bayside Women's Shelter. 

Below are the items that each year group are asked to donate to this appeal. Families are also welcome to donate new items of clothing for the winter such as beanies, socks and gloves. 

Youth Parish Connect

On Sunday 29 May students from Years 10-12 from Brigidine College Randwick and Marcellin College Randwick attended the inaugural Youth Parish Connect.

This group aims to explore ways in which our schools can support the work of, and be active in, our local Parish community. 

The next parish gathering is on Sunday 19 June where students from Years 7-9 are invited to participate in formation, a light dinner and Mass. 

More information will be available via Compass and Social Media closer to the date. 

The Month of Mary - Rosary

Thank you to our Youth Ministry Coordinator, Ms Atlamaz, who ran the Rosary once a week in commemoration of Mary for the month of May. I thank the many students who showed up each week to join together in prayer during this most special month. 

Year 11 Retreat

At the end of this term, Year 11 will embark on their first senior retreat experience. I know I share in the excitement of this cohort as we begin to prepare for three incredible faith-filled days away. More information will be distributed to families in the coming week.
