Time is Money

by Maddie Proy

Time is money, so they say,

But no money comes my way.

I have all the time I could possibly need,

But I don't have the money that I need to succeed.

I wait around all day and all night.

But there’s still no money in my sight.

I have all the time I could possibly want,

But I don't have the money for a life so nonchalant.

I just need money, is that too much to ask?

I did not think it was that hard of a task!

What do I do with all this time,

What do I do when it’s not worth a dime?

But what is the value of money if you have no time?

A Love Poem

by Jasper Coronado

I love the way you smile

I love the way you laugh

I love the way you lay on my arms

I won't let you get away from me

But… I failed

It was the last time you smiled

It was the last time you laughed

It was the last time you laid on my arms

The angels will take care of you

I loved you…

Bloom

by Lara Meddis

A luminous light. An ineffable sight.

A swift of gracious gratitude,

Beside the bitterly cold night.

A hallucination.

They are light in dark.

Stars above me.

An illustrious shooting star.

Once in a lifetime, in every century it comes.

A new life appears,

In a deep blue sky.

Only one in which,

A single soul shall die.

Christmas Snowflakes

by Izzy Rogers

Snowflakes are falling

Bitter cold air freezes hands

Cuddle up, stay warm

Snowflakes falling from the sky

Help remind us exactly why,

Christmas came so long ago

Cleansing the Earth like each new snow

Party and presents

Friends and family too

Merry Christmas to you!

Each snowflake melts as does the ice

But we can’t forget the sacrifice.
