Learning Time in 1/2 Goddard

The students have been very busy with their activities since returning to school. Last week, we had a lot of fun using the Blue Bots to help us understand more about giving and following directions. We learnt how to program the Blue Bots using coding, and then took turns to use them with our partners. 

Our science topic this term is about exploring different materials. After getting into groups, we predicted what would happen to materials like plastic, foil and paper, if water was poured onto them. It was fun looking and discovering what happened to the water and the materials. Some of them got very soggy! Another part of our science topic is all about discovering chemical reactions, so we made ‘Foaming Monsters’! After filling a bottle with vinegar, detergent and red food colouring, we then added some bicarb of soda. The mixture spurted quickly out of the top of the bottle and we loved watching it foam out all over the place!
