Fr Kingsley will be joining with Diocesan priests from Sunday 20th November (afternoon) until Friday 25th November for their annual retreat.  Please keep Fr and his colleagues in your prayers.

Advent begins

Week 1 - HOPE

This coming Sunday signifies the start of Advent; a time of preparation as we head towards Christmas.  The readings for Advent begin with a magnificent passage from the early chapters of Isaiah, the prophet whose writings will dominate the entire season. Advent is the time when the Church longs for the coming of the Lord. In this longing the Church looks in two directions, so to speak. Backward to the Lord’s first coming as a child born to Mary in Bethlehem. Forward to his second coming as Son of Man at the end of time.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the Gift of Your life.  

Thank You for coming to Earth to enter into my life.  

Thank You for the joy of knowing You and loving You.  

May I allow this joy to so transform my life that I may continually seek to give You to others.  

Jesus, I trust in You.

Amen.
