PREPS CELEBRATE 100th DAY

Last week Preps celebrates their 100th day at school. We walked up our balcony to 100 colourful balloons. Throughout the day we participated in many activities around the number 100. This included writing about our favourite things we do at school, counting out 100 fruit loops then making them into a necklace, making 100’s celebration hats and making 100’s and 1000’s bread with our year 6 buddies. “This is this best day in Prep ever” quoted Phoebe.

ERIC'S GOLD MEDAL PERFORMANCE

Congratulations to Eric Li in Year 3A, who won a gold medal in his piano exam last week, in the 8-16 year old category.

A wonderful effort Eric, and congratulations to you from everyone at St Andrews Christian College.

We're proud of you!

SENIORS SPEND PRECIOUS TIME WITH PREPS

It was wonderful to see the Senior School students spend time reading and laughing with our Preppies.

It's a great way for our youngest students to feel valued and recognised by the 'big kids' and it's a beautiful way for our Senior students to learn the value of patience, tenderness and encouragement.

Well done Senior students!

BOTTLE CAPS FOR PROSTHETIC HANDS

In the Junior School we are collecting bottle caps. Some children don’t have hands, but we can help them! We need 500 bottle caps to make one prosthetic hand. At St Andrews Christian College we are aiming for 1000 bottle caps.

We have already collected 380 bottle caps from the Junior School in one week. Friday is bottle cap day. Collect as many bottle caps as you can. We will collect the caps on bottle cap day every week and try to hit our goal of 1000. This is a way we can show a “Servant Heart” to children in need.

'THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE' VIDEO

Many thanks to all those who submitted a video for This Little Light of Mine. We had some wonderful renditions and it was great to have so many family members included. The video was played at the end of the Jesus The Light of the World Festival last week.

Parents who were not able to attend will be able to view the video via a link which will be sent out via Flexibuzz.

2ND PLACE PLAYING THE CHINESE GUZHENG

Congratulations to Hannah Liu in 2R who took part in an International Chinese Instrument competition on 10 August playing the Guzheng, which is a traditional Chinese zither. She did exceptionally well and achieved second place! Well done Hannah an amazing effort!
