The Stupendously Spectacular Spelling Bee by Deborah Abela

This is a fantastic book which is in our Junior Library. It is about a girl named India Wimple who is very good at spelling. She lacks confidence but she has an extremely supportive family behind her. Her family strongly encourages her to sign up for the Spelling Bee, so she does. She is terribly shy but she is also the nicest girl you could ever meet. It’s a heart-warming book. The book also helps anyone who reads it to become a better speller by having a word at the start of each chapter with its definition and putting it into a sentence. You won’t be disappointed if you read this book!

There are also two sequels:  The most Marvellous Spelling Bee Mystery and The Most Marvellous International Spelling Bee. We have these in our library too and I have heard they are also excellent books. All of these books can be found in the Junior Fiction section of the Junior Library.

ATTENTION
