Weeden Heights Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Program

Students have continued to work really hard in the garden!  We are gradually making progress against the overgrown plants and weeds.   Some of our fruit trees and the strawberry patch are beginning to grow fruit so we have begun netting to protect the strawberries and cherries from birds and possums.  

 

In the kitchen, students have enjoyed making waffles with macerated strawberries, salad with peas, beetroot, feta and mint as well as kale slaw with red cabbage and carrots.  The waffles in particular smelled amazing!
