Junior School

              Prep/1M

In grade Prep/1M we have been enjoying lots of fun hands on activities to assist with our learning in Mathematics!

It is essential for students to have opportunities to engage in kinaesthetic learning where they can absorb themselves in activities and learn along the way!

The latest research from Harvard University tells us that when students think about mathematics visually, they are using different brain pathways than when they think numerically.  Using physical materials and props to assist learning in a multisensory way (using more than one sense) is especially beneficial in the junior grades when students are first introduced to abstract concepts!
