Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members
As the 2020 School year comes to an end I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone.
Despite the disruption of Covid we have again achieved much success.
Last week we were informed that we had won an award for the design of our new Japanese garden. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Sarah Moore and Brigitte Ardossi for creating this lovely space.
Over the past week many students have been presented with awards in recognition of their achievements throughout the year. Whilst not all students received awards, this does not mean that we are not extremely proud of everyone’s achievement.
Last week we celebrated the end of Primary school for our Year 6 students. Many of these students will be moving into our secondary school next year and we are all really excited to see them embrace the opportunities ahead of them. For the Year 6 students who are departing PCC we all wish you well.
We also celebrated the Graduation of our Year 9 students last week. At this event we bid farewell to our amazing graduating students. On the night we were able to acknowledge the work and contribution of our Year 9 students during their years at our college.
The end of each school year comes with farewells, and this year is no different. I would like to take this opportunity to farewell the following staff who are departing PCC for various reasons; including retirement and relocation.

I thank each and every one of these staff members for the contribution they have made to Point Cook College and I wish them well in their future endeavours.
We are looking forward to another exciting year of learning in 2021…so many wonderful opportunities await us. We will be opening our newly renovated Food Tech Centre in 2021. We have purchased some amazing state of the art equipment for this area.
We have planned a Year 7 camp for early next year and we are hoping to undertake study tours to Japan and Indonesia late in the year.
This year tested each of us. COVID-19 caused unprecedented disruption to education. During this time our PCC teachers went to incredible lengths to help our students keep learning. I could not be prouder of our amazing staff.
It would be remiss of me no not acknowledge you… our parents. You did an incredible job during remote learning and on behalf of all staff I thank you.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in 2021. All students in Years 1-7 will commence school on Friday 29 January. All Year 8 &9 students will commence on Monday 1 February and all Prep students will commence their transition on Monday 1 February.
Merry Christmas to you and your families. May your 2021 be happy and prosperous.
Yours sincerely,
Mandy O'Mara
