Important Information
ICAS Update
ICAS have informed us that they will send us the numbers of students participating in the tests by the end of this week (23/08/19).
Once we have numbers we can allocate times and dates to administer the tests.
Please check The Rocket next week for more news.
Foundation & Grade 1 & 2
Reading Program
This year we have changed our Reading Program and the way we assess Reading.
To fully change over to this program we are having to re-label all our Take Home Books into the new Reading levels.
Therefore, we will be collecting all Take Home Books next week and there will be none coming home after the end of next week – Week 7. Please make sure that you return any books that you have at home so we can get all the books in and re-labelled.
During this time please make sure that you continue to hear your child read – books can be borrowed from the School Library or the local Libraries. The children will bring home more Library books during this time to be read at home with you.
Take home books will start coming home again in Term 4. We will also be holding an information session in Term 4 on the new Reading Program and Assessment which will explain it and tips on how you can help your child when reading at home.
Thank you for your support on this matter.
