Liturgy
Community Liturgy
Once again, our community was blessed this morning to be able to celebrate the Eucharist, prepared by Year 11 students who are looking ahead to their 2021 Indigenous immersion in Arnhem Land.
Community Liturgy will resume Friday 24 July. The College gathers for liturgical celebration each Friday morning in term time, 8:00am-8:30 am. Please note that in week 2 of Term 3, Community Mass will be on Thursday 30 July, due to Fr Kevin King Cup on the Friday.
SACRAMENT PROGRAM
Congratulations… to Year 3 students, Jay Griffiths & Ruby Townsend, who recently celebrated their first Reconciliation in the parish of St Mary Star of the Sea, Cottesloe.
Congratulations to all students in Years 3 & 4 who have completed their program of Reconciliation or Eucharist in their Religion classes. During the week, students in Year 3 were lucky to have a special visit from Miss De Pinto who congratulated the students on their great work in class and ‘at home ‘ learning and presented them with their certificates.
Phase-4 – Important update for students in Years 3 and 4
Archbishop Timothy Costelloe has advised that “the celebration of First Reconciliation (school-aged children) and First Holy Communion (school-aged children) may recommence.” When the Phase-5 Roadmap is adopted there will be further updates from the archdiocese. The Archbishop’s statements may be viewed here.
What does this mean for my child in Year 3 or 4?
The students have completed the required units of work in the Religion curriculum and have received certificates so they may be enrolled in parish sacrament programs.
My parish is not offering a sacrament program yet.
Each parish within the archdiocese is a unique community, responding to the pastoral needs within the parish.
I have a child in Year 6: will there be Confirmation this year?
The Archbishop has advised “Confirmation (school-aged children) remains temporarily suspended.” You are advised to enroll in your parish, pending further easing of restrictions.
