Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Life is certainly feeling as though we are heading back to ‘normal’ as restrictions are lifted in Western Australia.  We are hopeful for a return to usual school procedures in Term Three.  It is important to regularly check our online calendar as a guide to various events, including Assemblies, Masses, Carnivals and other special events.   We are very pleased that the celebrations for John XXIII Day can go ahead next term and also excited about the commencement of our new dance program.

The next two terms will be busy so please keep an eye on dates as they are outlined on the calendar and in the weekly newsletter.

Thank you to all families for your wonderful support of LIFELINK which does so much good in the Perth community. There were many happy faces as children arrived with wearing their pyjamas or warm cosy clothes.

We wish you all a safe and restful holiday and sincerely thank you again for your positive support and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Antoinette De Pinto

Head of Primary

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS

As part of the Primary Assessment and Reporting process, Parent-Teacher interviews will be taking place on Monday 20 July and Tuesday 21 July. This is a valuable time for you to spend with the class teacher to discuss your child’s progress.

All parents are required to book their meeting online using PTO which can be found on the ‘Welcome’ page on SEQTA Engage (the PTO link is in the top right corner). PTO is now open for bookings.

Once you get to the log in screen, you must click on ‘Obtain Pin/Password’ (in the top right corner in grey). Your password will then be sent to your e-mail.

After logging in, you can select a suitable time to meet with teachers in Week 1 of Term 3. All interviews will run for approximately 15 minutes.

If you would like to book an appointment to see a specialist teacher, please contact them directly via e-mail to set up a mutually convenient time.

Sacramental Program

Congratulations to Year 3 students, Jay Griffiths & Ruby Townsend, who recently celebrated their first Reconciliation in the parish of St Mary Star of the Sea, Cottesloe.

Well done to all students in Years 3 & 4 who have completed their program of Reconciliation or Eucharist in their Religion classes. During the week, students in Year 3 were lucky to have a special visit from Miss De Pinto who congratulated the students on their great work in class and ‘at home ‘ learning and presented them with their certificates.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Last Thursday we celebrated a Teddy Bear and Furry Friend Day in Kindy and we had so much fun! The children enjoyed getting to know all about each other’s furry friends, including what their names were, who gave their special friends to them and what they liked doing together.

We read the story, “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and made pictures of the three bears going for a walk in the woods while they waited for their porridge to cool. Other activities included measuring our furry friends with unifix cubes and measuring tapes and singing lots of songs and rhymes about bears.

A highlight of the day was going on a bear hunt. There were twelve cheeky bears hiding in our playground. Luckily, they were all found safe and sound and were able to join us for our performance of, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.”

The children are looking forward to the holidays and many are very excited about their adventures around WA.  Screen time can be an ongoing challenge for the school holidays. If you are concerned about the safety or privacy of any apps or games, the following safety websites have detailed information for parents about a wide range of topics including Roblox Fortnite, Tic Toc, Zoom and Netflix.  Please consider what your child is using online and take a look at the relevant parent information.
