Magis report

This week saw the final section of the Arts-Humanities House Academic Challenge with some outstanding performances in the year 9 and 10 sections.  Loreto excelled to win the House honours from Koolyangarra, St Louis and Campion.  Natalie Ong won the Year 10 section ahead of Xavier Dillon and Zoe Furness, whilst in Year 9 Daniel Doran scored the highest tally of any year group (27/30)  with Rob Brigg and Nic Carrello equal second.   There is a link to the results summary sheet below.

There has been a pleasing response so far for the Magis Year 7 and 8 camp to be held at Point Walter on 7 & 8 August.  Forms have been distributed and are due back in week one next term. There are still a few places left, so please email if you would like the nomination form.  See the Camp Flyer below.

Next term we look forward to the Magis Year 7 and 8 Camp, and the return of Interschool gifted and talented competitions including WADL Debating, Opti-MINDS, Tournament of Minds and Mock Trials. This term has been difficult with all interschool competitions cancelled because of COVID-19 but on the positive side the Magis House Challenge program has been an enormous success with more than 150 students in each of the three challenges so far and outstanding leadership and involvement from senior students who have set a great example of enthusiasm and commitment. Warmest thanks to the House coordinators, Homeroom teachers, judges, and all student participants.
