 Parents Attending Assembly

We are holding assemblies live with students again. The assemblies are held on a Friday morning at around 10.15am (sometimes they will start a little earlier depending on how many items are being presented).

Weather permitting, the assemblies will be held in the undercover space between the Junior Hall and Admin Building.  If parents are available and would like to attend, please come along.

If it is raining (or too cold) the assembly will be held in the Rec Centre.  Unfortunately, there will be a limit to the number of additional adults we can invite in to the Rec Centre for assemblies, so unless you know your child is receiving an award or presenting, we ask that you not attend these assemblies.

Sick Children

Parents are asked not to send their child/ren to school if they are at all unwell.  Given the low immunity within the community at the moment, we understand that your children are coming down with colds and other illnesses more often and therefore missing more school than usual.  For the wellbeing of the whole school community however we request that you keep you children home if they are unwell.  Please test your child if they have any COVID like symptoms.

If your child tests positive for COVID please let the school know and report it to the Health Department.  COVID-19 Positive Rapid Antigen Test Self-Reporting Form

Ski Competition

Parents are reminded that registration is open for students who wish to join the Malvern Primary School Ski Team in the upcoming Interschool Ski Competition. Registration Forms are due in by Friday 15th July (first week of Term 3).

This year’s Interschool Ski Competition will be run from the 22nd to 24th August at Mt Buller. Your child does not need any previous race experience to compete and it is open to all ages of Primary (Prep to Year 6). If you would like more information, please contact the office.

Flag Poles

Parents will have noticed the two new flag poles at the front of the school.  Thank you to the Department of Veteran Affairs for providing the grant to Malvern Primary School.

Cross Country

The Malvern Primary School Cross Country was held on the 13th May at Central Park. In beautiful sunny weather all students in years 3-6 completed the event and gave their best effort running either 2km (8/9/10 year olds) or 3km (11yo and 12/13yo races).

Thanks to all parents who volunteered to assist with the running of these events. Your time and efforts are appreciated.  Thank you also to the parents who came to support their child/ren during the event.

60 students represented Malvern Primary School at the Caulfield District Cross Country Event at Caulfield Park yesterday. All students performed admirably and represented our school brilliantly. Malvern Primary School won the event - well done to all our participants!

The 16 students who finished in the top ten at the district event will now go on to compete in the Kingston Division Race next week. We wish the following students all the best at this event: Georgie L, Laila S, Alex S, Ted D, Peter S, Grace W, Annebelle D, Grace H, Benji E, Tessa D, Lola B, Isabella S, Amelia D, Angus J, Hugo B and Teddy S.

Malvern PS Instagram

We have created a Malvern Primary School Instagram page. The aim of this account is to use this platform to inform the current and wider community of the ongoing events in and around the school, as well as highlighting the learning in the classroom. At this stage the page will not include photos of any identifiable students. If you're on Instagram, we encourage you to follow this account @malvernprimaryvic and share it amongst the parent community to keep up to date with MPS as a whole.
