GRADE 2 NEWS

The Year Twos have just completed a long awaited intensive swimming program at the Harold Holt Pool. Apart from the acquisition of vital swimming and water safety skills, the experience of simply going on a bus and self organisation have been an absolute highlight of the program. The Year Two teachers would like to thank all of the parents who bravely volunteered to come along to help out. Here are some recounts from the students about the program.
I was so excited for swimming because I love swimming, it’s so fun! All the Grade 2s went swimming, we went swimming for 2 weeks. We went swimming at Harold Holt. First we had to go on the bus, then we took off our school clothes and changed to our swimming clothes. On the last day we made thankyou cards. We did safety stuff. We got to wear life jackets. I enjoyed swimming. Tia
I loved swimming because I was wearing a life jacket and I could float. It was fun but the life jacket was a bit big, but I didn’t care. Lucas
Swimming was amazing!!! I went in a bus to swimming. I learned how to do free style, back stroke and what you do when you get in trouble. Noah
I am so exhausted! I swam a lot. It was fun. My favourite part was the water safety. Ted
I was so excited. I stepped out of the bus and there was Harold Holt Swimming Pool. I rushed inside and sat down. After a bit, the swimming teacher came. His name was Connor. We learned freestyle and torpedo kick. The rest was the same except for the last day. We made a big thankyou card for them, then they taught us survival. I liked it a lot. It was fun. Violet
