Valedictory Dinner

We are all busy making the Hall a magical space for our graduating class of 2020 who will finally get to celebrate their Valedictory Dinner on Friday evening in our Kevin Borland Hall. In attendance will be members of our School Council, who gift this event to them,  their teachers and, for a pre-dinner get together, their families.

This cohort of graduates includes a number of children who have been at Preshil right from the kindergarten, and it is especially lovely for them to return to our campus for this farewell.

The Arlington children gathered in the Hall this morning to have a whole school meeting to decide on how they would like to decorate the hall. We had wonderful suggestions from getting and filling a full sized tram with their dinner to hanging any number of beautiful creations from the ceiling.

The kindergarten and Lighthouse children got to work making paper chains, and the Lofties painted some beautiful place mats; we'll need 55!

The Sunroomers will be putting together giant posies to be suspended over each table, and the Peppercorns? Well let's just say it will be 'illuminating'.

There is nothing quite so lovely as the community coming together for a shared purpose, and what could be more lovely than celebrating the extraordinary achievement of our graduating class of 2020.

They truly made us proud.

Water Play

The hot weather brings with it the delight of water play. Children are invited to run under the sprinkler, or engage in other water play  which is monitored by our teachers to maintain hygiene and COVID safety.

We invite water play on hot days for the first half of lunch and then encourage some basking for the second half to dry off.  We recommend a change of clothes be brought to school on hot days.

Swimming Program 1-5 March

The Compass Event for our swimming program has been published. Consent and payment are due on by Friday 26 February. Children from the Lighthouse Fives through to the Peppercorns Tens and Elevens will spend time each afternoon at the Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre swimming and learning about water safety. This is an exciting week, and as our children will be especially active, we recommend packing maybe just one extra snack.
